Nilo Farms Part 1: Clay Shooting
Posted by Mark Bollman on

We've been very fortunate over the years to take our sporting traditions and adventures to many locations around the U.S. As we continue to highlight these trips, our main goal remains: to expand and strengthen the Ball and Buck community.

This adventure is split into two parts to feature Brighton, Illinois’ Nilo Farms - one of our favorite and most premier hunting preserve and shooting facilities in America.

We set foot on the nearly 650 acres of the vast woodlands and submarginal agricultural grounds. Starting our day off we hit the course. Clays are an integral part of the Nilo experience. Dew fresh on the grass, we took to the course showcasing our skills to the guides as they evaluated our next adventure, the hunt.

Taking down clay after clay, we warmed on some traditional 25 clay competitions rounds and then attacked the “Crazy Quail” challenge. Good luck smoking all 10 of these clays as the trap operators wail them at from 360 degrees in random patterns.

Finishing up day one, we set our sights on the Nilo Clubhouse, to unwind and share a drink. Tomorrow, we take onto the field for the full Nilo Farms experience.
